O Festival de Cannes 2026 anunciou nesta quinta-feira (9) a seleção oficial para a próxima edição, que acontecerá em maio. Sem produções brasileiras e com poucos destaques americanos, o principal festival de cinema do mundo deu força para as produções europeias e asiáticas. Na competição oficial, o grande chamariz fica para 'Natal Amargo', novo filme do cineasta Pedro Almodóvar. Há também importante presença japonesa, com 'All Of A Sudden', de Ryûsuke Hamaguchi (diretor de 'Drive My Car') e 'Sheep In The Box', de Hirokazu Kore-eda (diretor de 'Assunto de Família'). O cineasta Park Chan-wook presidirá o júri. Peter Jackson e Barbra Streisand receberão a Palma de Ouro honorária. O Festival de Cannes de 2026 ocorre entre 12 a 23 de maio.
